GENERAL RULES & REGULATIONS
CAMPING EQUIPMENT – All camping equipment must be in good condition and visually appealing. Management reserves the right to cancel reservations if equipment does not meet these standards. If you have concerns about your camping equipment’s condition, please contact our friendly staff.
ADDITIONAL CAMPING EQUIPMENT – Campsite pricing includes one camping unit. For an additional $10 per night, a secondary tent may be added to your campsite. Secondary tents must be registered at, or prior to, check-in. An unregistered secondary tent will incur a $15 penalty per night. Tent use is restricted to the 300’s section campsites. Multiple RVs on a site are not permitted. There is a maximum of 2 tents or 1 RV & 1 tent per campsite
TENT & RV CAMPERS – Due to health department regulations, tent toilets/privies and portable toilets are not allowed. If your tent or RV lacks a restroom, you must use the public restrooms.
CHECK-IN – Check-in is between 2 PM and 8 PM or nightfall, whichever is earlier. Early check-in may be available for a fee. RV check-ins arriving after dark may be required to dry camp in the parking lot for their first night. Reservations will be canceled if the site is not occupied by 11 AM the following day, without advanced notice of a later arrival date or time.
CHECK-OUT – Check-out is by 11 AM. Late check-out may be available for a fee.
QUIET HOURS – Quiet hours are from 10:30 PM to 7:30 AM. During this time, please turn off all radios and spotlights, keep voices down, and avoid all other noisy actions until quiet hours end. Minors (17 and under) must return to their campsite or be under direct adult supervision by 10 PM. Courtesy to your neighbors is expected 24/7.
CAMP SITE OCCUPANCY – Campsites can each accommodate up to 7 people, including no more than 4 adults. Registering more than 2 adults (18+) will incur a $16 fee per person, per night. Campers may register up to 2 pets to campsites. Maximum 2 pets per site.
RENTAL UNIT OCCUPANCY – Rental RVs and rental cabins can accommodate up to 6 people, with no more than 4 adults. Registering more than 2 adults (18+) will incur a $16 fee per person, per night. Some rental units may have a lower occupancy limit. Campers may register up to 2 pets in a pet-friendly rental unit. Pet fees apply. Not all rental units are pet friendly. Maximum 2 pets.
RESERVATION & OCCUPANCY AGE – Reservations can only be made by individuals 21 years of age or older. Anyone under 21 must be accompanied by a parent. ID may be requested at check-in.
VISITOR FEES – Guests are welcome but subject to daily limits. Day Passes are $8, Overnight Passes are $16. Children under 5 are free, and seniors (65+) receive a 50% discount. No pets are allowed with visitors. The total number of people (including visitors) cannot exceed 8 during the day or 4 adults overnight.
PETS – We allow up to 2 friendly dogs per campsite. Proof of up-to-date rabies vaccination records will be required, per CT state law. Not all rental units are pet friendly. A separate Pet Rules Agreement will be sent to campers with registered pets.
VEHICLES & PARKING – Up to 2 vehicles can be registered per campsite. A third vehicle can be registered for an additional fee. Overflow parking is first-come, first-served.
ELECTRIC VEHICLES – Charging electric/hybrid vehicles onsite incurs a $10 daily fee.
SPEED LIMIT – The speed limit within the campground is 5 MPH.
GOLF CARTS – Personal golf carts are not allowed to be brought to Cozy Hills Campground. If you would like to use a golf cart, please contact our friendly staff for golf cart rental information.
BICYCLES, E-BIKES, ETC. – Bicycles are allowed. Bicycle riders under 16 must wear a helmet at all times, per CT state law. E-bikes are allowed, if operated in a safe and responsible manner. E-Bike riders of all ages must wear a helmet at all times, per CT state law. Bikes and e-bikes may not be used after dark. UTVs, ATVs, scooters, mopeds, children’s riding toys, and other similar devices are prohibited. For the privacy and safety of our valued guests, drone use at the campground is prohibited.
POOL – The pool is open from Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day Weekend, from 10 AM until dusk each day. Children must be supervised by a responsible person aged 16 or older. Glass and pets are prohibited in the pool area.
PLAYGROUNDS – Our playgrounds are open during daylight hours. Please respect all posted rules and do not climb on the roofs of play structures.
ACTIVITY AREAS – The Mega Slide, Rock Climbing Wall, & the Archery/Laser Tag Field may only be used/entered when Cozy Hills staff are present. Follow all staff instructions. Some activities are only available on designated days, require advanced signup, and incur small fees.
BOATS – Kayaks, canoes, and rowboats are allowed to be used on the big pond when conditions permit. Rentals are available on an honor system when conditions permit. Life vests are required for all ages. Motorized boats are prohibited. We advise against bringing trailered boats or personal watercraft for off-site use due to limited parking.
FISHING – Catch-and-release fishing is permitted in campground ponds.
CLOTHESLINES – Temporary clotheslines are allowed but must be taken down when not in use.
OUTDOOR REFRIGERATORS/FREEZERS – The use of outdoor refrigerators/freezers not attached to the camping unit is prohibited.
FIREWOOD – Due to invasive pests and diseases that can affect our trees, bringing outside firewood into the campground is prohibited. Bundled, kiln-dried firewood is available for purchase on-site.
CAMPFIRES – Campfires must be contained in fire pits, campfire-sized, and never left unattended. Fires must be extinguished before leaving the campsite or going to bed. Please do not burn trash or large logs collected from the surrounding forest.
CLEANLINESS – Campsites and rental units must be left clean upon departure. A cleaning fee will apply if the site or rental unit is left in an unacceptable condition. Rental Unit reservations will receive additional documentation regarding cleaning.
TRASH/RECYCLING – Due to increased bear activity in recent seasons, campers must dispose of all trash/recycling in the parking lot dumpsters between 9 AM and 8 PM. The dumpsters will be padlocked outside these hours. Trash left outside or inappropriately disposed of will incur a fine.
FLAGS/POLITICAL DISPLAYS – We encourage a family-friendly environment. Please limit flag displays to national, state, and theme-specific flags.
SMOKING/VAPING – Smoking and vaping are only allowed at designated smoking areas or at your site. Smoking in campground buildings and rental units is prohibited and will result in a fine.
MARIJUANA/CANNABIS – Regardless of legal status in Connecticut, the possession and/or use of marijuana/cannabis, and products made thereof, is prohibited at Cozy Hills.
ALCOHOL/DRUGS – Responsible alcohol consumption is permitted for campers 21 and older. No kegs allowed. Drunken behavior will not be tolerated. Underage drinking and/or the use/possession of illegal drugs will result in ejection and police notification.
FIREWORKS – The possession and/or use of fireworks is prohibited and will result in ejection and police notification.
FIREARMS/WEAPONS – The possession and/or use of firearms/weapons is prohibited and will result in ejection and police notification.
SOLICITATION – Solicitation at the campground is prohibited.
